FAQs

What types of dogs do you groom?

We groom all breeds of x-small to medium-sized dogs under 30 lbs. Puppies, senior dogs, and anxious dogs are welcome, as we can customize our services to meet their specific needs.

How long is the grooming session?

The length of grooming time greatly depends on your dog's behavior and the type of grooming service.

If it is a puppy having its first grooming, we may need extra time to give treats and praises during the process to build a positive association to grooming. For anxious or senior dogs, we may need to approach slowly and give small rests between each step.

If your dog requires de-matting, this may add extra time to the grooming session.

Our typical Bath & Tidy service takes about 2 to 2.5 hours, while a Full Groom service takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. We kindly ask our customers not to rush the grooming process, as we are providing services directly related to the safety and comfort of the dogs.

How often should my dog be groomed?

The frequency of grooming depends on your dog's breed, coat type, and lifestyle.

For dogs with curly or wavy coats, such as poodles or poodle mixes, we recommend regular grooming every 4-6 weeks to prevent matting. Frequent grooming visit may help active dogs that enjoy walking in the rain or rolling on the grass as wet, dirty coat often lead to tangles and knots.

Do you charge extra for doodles & poodle mixes?

As a fellow doodle owner, we absolutely love and encourage all doodles to come in!
We do not charge extra for grooming a doodle or any other poodle mixes. However, we do charge $30 for de-matting if your dog is very matted. The cost of de-matting covers the wearing of our tools as well as extra time and effort we put into taking out the matts safely for your dog.

Do you groom dogs with behavioural issues?

We provide grooming services for dogs with behavioral issues, as long as they are not aggressive. Many groomers adopt this policy because handling aggressive dogs can be unsafe for both the dog and the groomer.

For dogs that show fear or anxiety but are not aggressive, special care can often be taken to ensure a calm environment. Aggressive dogs may require more specialized handling, sedation under veterinary supervision, or behavior modification training before grooming is possible.

Can I stay with my dog during grooming session?

Due to safety concern, we do not allow owners to stay while their dog is being groomed.

Most dogs experience high level of stress when their owners are present in the room. Your dog might move around on the table trying to reach you, which makes the process more dangerous.

Upon arrival to your appointment, your dog may be anxious, but they will soon be much calmer without you there. This also helps us create a bond with your dog without them needing to look to you for comfort.

Are there services that you don’t offer?

Unfortunately, for the safety of our resident dog and cats, we do not accept dogs with fleas, lice, or that have been skunked.

We do not offer teeth cleaning or anal gland expression, as we believe these procedures should be performed safely and effectively by a veterinarian.

What grooming products do you use?

We use professional-quality, hypoallergenic shampoos/conditioners, and pet-safe grooming products to ensure the best care for your dog's coat and skin.

You are also welcome to bring your own product if your dog needs a medicated shampoo or if you have a product you would prefer.
